Bay Cove Academy is a therapeutic day school located in Brookline, MA providing services to students ages 12-22 with social-emotional, mental health and academic challenges. Approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Bay Cove Academy students and their treatment teams receive comprehensive educational, clinical, behavioral, and family engagement support. The school tailors to each individualized student within a trauma-informed environment.

Job Description:

Bay Cove Academy is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as the Assistant School Director. The Assistant School Director will be a dynamic, dedicated, and motivated individual who will provide direct oversight of the services provided to students. The Assistant School Director will be responsible for the assessment, development, and implementation of educational, vocational and clinical plans.

The Assistant School Director will provide supervision to administrators, teachers, or support staff. The Assistant School Director will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the school in the absence of the Program Director. The Assistant School Director will have familiarity with Special Education law, DESE regulations, and the implementation of the schools Anti-Bullying and Anti-Hazing programs and policies. The Assistant School Director will help oversee the school’s management, training, and development.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Special Education Administrator certification or be
    eligible to obtain one.
  • M.Ed with a Special Education focus.
  • At least 1 year experience as a supervisor and administrator.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with
    emotional disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and leadership abilities.
  • Understanding of the Special Education mandates, regulations and the IEP process.
