Are you the Rapid Re-Entry Case Manager we have been looking for?  In this position you will be a medical and social advocate by working with our clients!

STRIVE Boston’s Re-Entry Program serves returning citizens in one of our signature job- readiness training workshops on location at the Brook House Halfway House. We provide Resume writing, cover letter writing, mock interview techniques and more in our 5-week program which addresses the needs of returning citizens and unemployed youth ages 18 to 24. Our program entails the completion of a soft skills workshop, access to occupational skills training with training partners, case management, and referrals to other service providers as needed. After graduating from the job-readiness training, these participants will receive ongoing case management as they move through our continuum of services, including opportunities for job placement. We facilitate our job-readiness workshops, peer support groups, weekly jobs club and individualized coaching calls in person or via live video conferencing.

In this position, you will have responsibility for facilitating the job readiness workshops at the Brook House in-person and a weekly jobs club, providing oversight for all data collection, providing case management, and assisting with recruitment. The position will be part of an integrated Core Team of staff that will connect daily and weekly through program meetings. This is a 40 hour per week position. You do need to have reliable transportation and a driver's license to be considered for this position.

What You'll Do:

  • Facilitate the STRIVE job readiness workshop curriculum and oversee all employment
  • Recruit clients that have been released from South Bay House of Correction and provide resources and training to help them get a job immediately
  • Facilitate Professional Development Trainings on-site
  • Assist with all STRIVE recruitment efforts including intake interviews, neighborhood canvassing, visits to courts and welfare centers, and liaison with churches, community centers and social service organizations.
  • Conduct weekly outreach and orientation sessions, providing information to potential candidates and encouraging them to begin the application process.
  • Provide weekly support to all participants as they move throughout the program components and into post-placement follow up.
  • Provide intensive case management that begins at assessment and is strength-based, trauma-informed, and participant-driven.
  • Work collaboratively with participants to ensure they can meet their employment
  • Provide participants with one-on-one support, group support, daily or weekly check-ins, problem-solving, dealing with workplace conflict, navigating issues of race/ethnicity in the workplace, brainstorming solutions to any barriers to employment or program participation that may arise.
  • Ensure that participants provide the required intake documents and complete the application process.
  • Document up to date relevant client information and outcomes in the Apricot database
  • Monitor participants during the follow up period to track the outcomes of services
  • Complete other tasks as assigned or

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Overall knowledge of basic individual and group counseling skills a Life skills and experience will also be taken into consideration.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (English/Haitian Creole or Spanish) preferred. 
  • Transportation and Valid Driver's License.
