Who We Are: 

The Susan Wayne Center of Excellence (SWCE) located in Thompson, CT provides intensive, staff secure, educational and living experiences for male and female adolescents intended to cultivate excellence in all areas of growth and functioning, while preparing them for increased independence as they move into young adulthood. 

At SWCE, comprehensive and individualized treatment and programming builds on existing strengths and competencies to address the multiple, adverse life challenges often experienced by residents and their families within a structured and evidenced based treatment and educational framework within a residential setting that encompasses 24hrs/ 7days weekly. 

Schedule: Full-time, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM 

Salary: $75,000 - $78,000/year 

What You’ll Do: 

Start a career at JRI making a difference in the lives of the young men and woman we support who present with challenging multiple diagnosis. You will have the opportunity to participate in medication administration, triage and basic first aid, developing care plans, maintaining student safety, and monthly documentation. You will provide empowering support, enabling students to live fuller lives & safely explore & pursue their dreams.

Requirements: 

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Hold a current RN license in good standing. 

  • Ability to obtain Connecticut State nursing licensure. 

  • A valid driver’s license. 

  • Ability to be certified in American Red Cross CPR/First Aid 

  • Ability to be certified in Building Communities of Care (verbal de-escalation and physical intervention) 

  • Experience in a mental health, residential or medical setting with adolescents preferred. 

  • Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications. 

  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft computer systems and Internet capabilities.
