Anchor Academy is a therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for students ages 10-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and/or behavioral difficulties. Anchor Academy offers students a supportive environment that addresses their education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational and behavioral needs. Individual, group, nursing, and milieu counseling are provided.  
Anchor Academy utilizes unique ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) and BCC (Building Communities of Care) treatment frameworks that focus on building individual capacities for emotion regulation, personal strengths, and healthy relationships. Certified special education teachers provide students with curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.  
Job Description:  
Anchor Academy is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as a Classroom Support Staff. The Classroom Support Staff will work collaboratively with all school employees to provide coaching and check-ins for students throughout the school day; assist in developing and implementing academic and clinical interventions; provide in-the-moment skill development and job/vocational coaching; provide social and emotional awareness to increase independence and access to the academic curriculum; and model trauma informed care through the ARC treatment philosophy.  
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Requirements:  
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or a degree in social work, psychology or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledgeable In: Growth and development; able to obtain and interpret information in terms of the needs of emotionally dysregulated or mentally ill adolescents; understanding of the range of interventions and treatment required by adolescents.
  • Acceptable CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) and OIG background check.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license. Able to work alone in an unsupervised environment.
