Description

We are seeking an experienced SENIOR GRANTS MANAGER to join our team at the Justice Resource Institute. 
This individual will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of federal and state grants, including programmatic compliance, payroll allocations, expenditure tracking, reporting, performance evaluation and all related budgetary and administrative aspects to ensure the continued success of JRI’s programs with grant funding. 
RESPONSIBILITIES 
Oversight of grant management for federal and state grant funders. Ideal candidate will cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funders, ensuring effective communication and reporting, collaborate with fiscal and billing staff to identify any relevant contractual changes, and assist senior staff in the Finance and Administration department when necessary. 
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: 
  • Manage overall process and maintenance of grants.
  • Work with the Program Directors on establishing their annual budgets and payroll and cost allocations.
  • Track and document payments and expenditures for grants.
  • Oversee grant budgets, working closely with program leadership to ensure funds are utilized effectively and in accordance with grant requirements.
  • Process state and federal grant renewals and amendments, including all required attachments and revise post-award budgets, as needed.
  • Optimize the grant administration process.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports, including financial reports, programmatic reports, and any other documentation required by funding agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations and advise regarding the allowability of costs to be charged to a grant.
  • Work effectively with all required portals to update grant documents and budgets.
  • Oversee subrecipient monitoring.
  • Track renewal dates and meet required deadlines for all applications, renewals, and amendments.
  • Assist with new proposals and grant applications, when necessary.
  • Monitor compliance with federal grant regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Keep the organization up-to-date with any changes in regulations and assure compliance with funding source requirements and internal contractual policies and procedures.
  • Assist internal auditors and auditors from funding agencies in their review of JRI’s records and assist with the preparation of required financial analysis.
  • Serve as liaison to funders and JRI program and executive staff.
  • Work with fiscal and administrative staff to oversee timely closeout of all concluded grants.
  • Perform other duties and work on special projects assigned by the CFO and Vice Presidents.
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Experience managing state and federal grants. Specific experience with CDC, SAMHSA, OJJDP, VOCA/MOVA, MACA, EOHHS a strong plus.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to handle complexity and change are essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • BA Degree and minimum 5 years of hands-on contracting experience in Human Service and in grant management.
  • Good judgement and an ability to relate positively and effectively to human services program personnel and external funders.
  • Experience with contracting forms and procedures for both state and federal grants and contracts.
  • Strong understanding of federal grant regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong product orientation; clear organization of work; ability to conceptualize projects to ensure the progress and completion of many projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work as a member of a management team and to communicate with program staff and executive personnel.
