OAKVILLE WINERY       
 
Job Duties:   
  • Oversee daily cellar operations for JFW and other custom clients to meet production requirements and schedules.
  • Create harvest billing for custom crush clients and oversee monthly billing during the off season.
  • Manage inventory from farm to bottle using wine inventory databases and enterprise resource systems.
  • Manage the facility procurement department and conduct training in BIMs and JDE databases and resolve any issues.
  • Oversee and manage bottling operations and record keeping.
  • Generate work orders to communicate specific winemaking instruction to cellar staff.
  • Create timelines to achieve wine production goals.
  • Review completed work orders to ensure accurate and compliant record keeping.
  • Create job descriptions for seasonal harvest enologists and oversee their hiring and training.
  • Design and implement experimental lots and coordinate analyses to substantiate results.
  • Oversee Arrowood brand production at Oakville Cellars of 10 SKU(s) of Bordeaux varieties, including fermentation and ageing protocols and blending decisions.
  • Manage vineyards through the growing season and make picking decisions.
  • Partner with marketing and sales departments to present the wines, their competitive advantage and explain the differentiation with market competitors.
  • Work with marketing department in the promotion of the Arrowood brand by hosting events and tasting with wine critics.
  • Create technical sheets for Arrowood wines, tasting notes and trainings for the DTC, sales and marketing teams.
   
   
Education & Experience Requirements:    
  • Bachelor’s degree in Enology, viticulture, biochemistry or related field
  • 2 years of winery production experience.     
Special Skills:   
(must have work experience with each of the following)   
  • Managing inventory from farm to bottle using wine inventory databases and enterprise resource systems such as JDE
  • Support the production of a vast spectrum of wines of different varieties, different winemaking methods, and time to market (collectors’ wines to consumable)
  • Managing vineyards through the growing season and making picking decisions with vineyards in Sonoma Valley, Alexander Valley, and Knights Valley, including experience with fruit from Sonoma Mountain and Moon Mountain
  • Partnering with marketing and sales departments to present the wines, their competitive advantage and explain the differentiation with market competitors. 
  
Wage Transparency:     
The base salary for this role ranges from $78,357 - $108,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
