Description

SAP Situation Handling Consultant

Türkiye, İstanbul  |  Hybrid  |  Full-Time  |

ABOUT THE ROLE

SAP Situation Handling is a powerful capability embedded within SAP S/4HANA that enables organisations to proactively detect critical business events, alert the right stakeholders at the right time, and trigger guided resolution workflows — all within the familiar SAP Fiori experience. As adoption of S/4HANA matures, Situation Handling is increasingly recognised as a key lever for operational excellence and process automation.

As our SAP Situation Handling Consultant, you will combine deep SAP ERP module expertise with hands-on Situation Handling implementation experience to help our clients unlock the full value of this capability. You will be responsible for identifying high-impact use cases across business functions, designing and configuring situation types, driving end-user adoption, and ensuring the capability is embedded as a sustained operational practice within the client organisation.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of SAP functional consulting experience in S/4HANA or ECC environments, with active project involvement in at least two SAP ERP modules
  • Proven hands-on experience implementing and configuring SAP Situation Handling in at least one S/4HANA project, including situation type setup, trigger definition, and recipient rule configuration
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Fiori UX architecture and how Situation Handling notifications are surfaced to end users
  • Ability to independently analyse complex business processes, identify exception and alert scenarios, and translate them into Situation Handling design specifications
  • Experience working with CDS (Core Data Services) views as data sources for situation type triggers, or ability to collaborate with ABAP developers to define custom CDS triggers
  • Proven ability to lead functional workshops, deliver training, and drive user adoption programmes in enterprise SAP environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience in SAP MM (Materials Management) and/or SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) modules — strongly preferred, as priority use cases for this engagement are concentrated in these areas
  • Familiarity with SAP Build Process Automation and the ability to design automated resolution workflows triggered by Situation Handling events
  • Understanding of SAP Business Partner, SAP Master Data, and data quality considerations relevant to situation trigger accuracy
  • Experience with SAP Work Zone and SAP Mobile Start as channels for situation alert delivery
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud (RISE) operations and awareness of Feature Pack Stack (FPS) upgrade impact on Situation Handling configurations
  • Familiarity with SAP Intelligent Scenario Lifecycle Management (ISLM) and how embedded AI use cases can complement proactive Situation Handling scenarios
  • SAP certification in MM, SD, or any S/4HANA functional module

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Engage with client business stakeholders across functional domains (MM, SD, FI, PP, etc.) to identify pain points, exception-heavy processes, and time-critical events that are strong candidates for Situation Handling
  • Conduct structured Situation Handling opportunity assessments; prioritise use cases based on business impact, technical feasibility, and data availability
  • Design and configure SAP Situation Types in S/4HANA including trigger conditions, business context, recipient determination logic, and guided resolution actions
  • Work with technical teams to define and implement custom CDS-based situation triggers where standard content does not cover identified use cases
  • Configure SAP Fiori notification channels (SAP Fiori Notification Centre, SAP Work Zone, email) for situation alert delivery and manage recipient rule maintenance
  • Collaborate with the SAP BTP & AI Infrastructure Admin to connect Situation Handling with SAP Build Process Automation for automated resolution workflows where applicable
  • Lead functional workshops and enablement sessions with business users, super-users, and process owners on new and existing situation types
  • Develop and maintain the client's Situation Handling catalogue: a living inventory of all configured, planned, and decommissioned situation types with associated KPIs
  • Define and track adoption metrics (situation trigger rates, resolution times, user engagement); produce regular reporting for client management
  • Provide ongoing hypercare support post-go-live and iterate on situation configurations based on user feedback and changing business conditions
  • Stay current with SAP Situation Handling product updates across S/4HANA releases and Feature Pack Stacks (FPS); assess new standard situation types for client applicability
