Finance serves as a strategic partner in IPM providing accurate, timely, and reliable information. Through efforts in cash management, financial reporting, providing financial insights, setting controls and consistency around processes, and risk management, the finance team is a critical part to IPM’s success and longevity. 

The Accountant is an important link between the Operations staff and the financial planning of the Company. This position is the primary liaison with Consultants and Operations Management to assist in financial control of the project budgets, to ensure that IPM is properly compensated. He/she is also an ambassador for IPM with clients on AR-related matters. This position requires the ability to handle confidential information and comply with numerous deadlines. Accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality are essential. 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review all project proposals prior to submission to the client to ensure that IPM’s financial interests are adequately protected. 
  • Manage IPM’s Accounts Receivable including preparation of customer invoices, review of customer purchase orders and billing requirements, following up on past due invoices.
  • Manage IPM’s Project Accounting including review and set up of project terms per contractual requirements, creating new project numbers, maintaining project status, ensuring project budgets are accurately recorded, and determining appropriate amount of revenue to be recognized in each fiscal month.
  • Act as a resource to consultants, assisting with the financial control of their projects.
  • Support month-end activities as assigned.
  • Support annual budgeting process.
  • Manage IPM’s corporate insurance policies (General Liability and Workers Compensation) and complete annual audit and renewal tasks.
  • Provide financial data analysis as assigned.
  • Assist with weekly financial forecast report.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis requests as assigned.
  • Audit weekly timesheets.
  • Manage monthly end-to-end bookkeeping for IPM Founder’s subsidiary business, including maintaining accurate financial records and supporting financial reporting.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, with expertise in Excel including manipulation and analysis of data.
  • Aptitude for accounting software.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information in such a way as to ensure confidentiality.  (Compromising confidential information is grounds for immediate termination.)
  • Utmost attention to accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills in the English language.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize within established deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct.
  • Displayed ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and grow skillset through earning relevant certifications, attending training courses and/or seeking out additional resources.

Required Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting related experience and working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with cash and accrual basis accounting methods required. 
  • Experience with ERP software required. (Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint, a plus.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, with expertise in Excel including manipulation and analysis of data.
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, a plus.

 

 

Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits Program 

100% employer-paid health for employees and 85% paid health for dependents; 401(k) matching, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, holiday, personal and sick time, among many others; salary range is $65,000 - $75,000 dependent on experience.

Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid work model consists of at least three days a week in our office in Burr Ridge.
  • May require extended hours including weekend/holiday work.
