In this role, you will plan and execute our advertising with vendors and our live and virtual marketing events. The role requires significant and ongoing collaboration with marketing team colleagues, internal stakeholders, and vendors. Through our advertising, you will promote the value of IPM expertise and services across our clients’ industries: life sciences, consumer products, and healthcare.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
The Marketing and Events Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, tracking, and measuring events and advertising promotions. This person will serve as the IPM expert for advertising and event best practices.
Marketing
- Serve as primary liaison between external advertising partners and IPM.
- Organize internal resources and timelines to execute advertising campaigns.
- Manage promotional calendar and campaign planning documents to ensure quality, efficiency, and measurement.
- Ensure proper set up and proof-read work provided and executed by outside parties.
- Serve as IPM expert on best practices for advertising.
Virtual and Live Events and Conferences
- Coordinate the IPM conferences and events portfolio.
- Create and maintain event planning calendar and documents for everyone involved that ensure quality, efficiency, and measurement.
- Organize IPM efforts on all elements of event planning and execution.
- Optimize participation and outcomes from event investments, ensuring specific goals are set and results are measured.
- Serve as the IPM expert on best practices for live and virtual events to ensure maximum return on our investment.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, English, communications, business, or similar major that requires writing, critical thinking, and business acumen.
- 2+ years coordinating and executing B2B advertising campaigns.
- 2+ years coordinating and executing live and virtual events.
- Certified Meeting Planner certification is a plus.
- Experience using CRM and marketing automation systems, preferably Salesforce and Pardot.
- Strong competency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated writing capabilities; impeccable grammar and familiarity with Associated Press style; ability to work with company-defined brand and style guidelines.
- Proven track record of coordinating promotional campaigns and high-quality events.
- Excellent time management and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
- Ability to work effectively with external parties and internal executives.
- Minimal travel, approximately 5% of time is required.
