The Human Resources Manager will function as a fully integrated member of Ideal Concepts’ leadership team. They will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department by creating, maintaining and enforcing all employee related company policies and practices.  Employee retention is a major core value for this role and the HR Manager should embody this important trait.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Handles hiring, promotion, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Plans, organizes, and controls the activities and actions of the HR department while contributing to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Reports to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Reviews, develops and administers human resources policies and procedures that relate to IDC personnel while maintaining compliance and supporting employee retention
  • Manages and coordinates immigration and visa sponsorship procedures and visa processing as it applies to the DHS and the USCIS
  • Designs, implements and maintains a compensation analysis process that fosters competitive pay, bonus and relocation for new hires as it relates to the appropriate market
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive start to their career at IDC
  • Coordinates management training in onboarding, terminations, promotions, performance reviews and safety in accordance with FLSA and EEOC guidelines
  • Oversees and manages a performance appraisal system to ensure high levels of performance, effectiveness, compliance, employee satisfaction and equity within an organization
  • Creates learning and development programs that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations and employee statistics for government reporting
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, training needs, grievances or other issues
  • Manages benefits programs such as health, life, dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance
  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for Worker’s Compensation
  • Prepares employee separation notices, related documentation and conducts exit interviews
  • Track turnover rates and analyze trends to offer solutions for talent attraction and retention
  • Represents IDC at personnel-related hearings and investigations
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Develop, maintain, and revise an employee handbook
  • Oversee payroll
  • Apply timely and creative solutions to problems while working well under pressure

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • At least one of the following certifications required:
    • HR Certification Institute (HRCI)
      • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
      • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
      • Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR)
      • Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP)
      • Human Resource Business Professional (HRBP)
  • 5+ years of direct HR Management
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics, training and employee relations
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices management systems
  • Strong experience with DHS and USCIS Immigration and visa sponsorship procedures
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Experience with researching, launching and managing HRIS systems and databases
  • High level ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Strong ability to relate well with employees at all levels of the organization using interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experienced in conflict resolution and ability to apply critical thinking skills to identify appropriate resolution for issues
  • Thorough knowledge of how to conduct an investigation and document findings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office
