Analyst, Sales Analytics
Hachette Book Group is seeking an Analyst to join our Sales Analytics team. This position will support the Associate Director of Sales Analytics in developing and executing data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will be a data storyteller who can contextualize raw numbers to help inform a multitude of decisions across the company.
The position is based out of our NYC office on a hybrid schedule. Please note our current hybrid model is 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide analytical support for Sales business initiatives
2. Assist in preparing presentations for Sales business initiatives and marketplace updates
3. Provide regular reporting (weekly, monthly) on the book marketplace, customers, publishing divisions, and top titles for use by Sales, senior management, and publishers
Qualifications/Requirements:
· 1-3 years experience working with data and/or business analytics experience
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g. v-lookups, complex formulas, pivot tables)
· Strong PowerPoint and general presentation creation skills
· Ability to translate data into visual displays that identify clear takeaways
· Strongly preferred: experience building numerical and visual dashboard reports using data visualization software like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.
· Strong written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels within a company
· Adaptable with the ability to learn new information systems and integrate them into existing processes
· Superb attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
· Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Pluses:
· Familiarity with business intelligence systems (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Tableau, IBM Cognos Analytics, etc.)
· Prior experience within publishing, media, or consulting

The compensation for this position is $60,000-$70,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
