The Fall 2026 Workman Digital Marketing Intern position at Hachette Book Group's Workman Running Press Group imprint offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in the publishing industry to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing. This internship is designed for those who want to learn about the lifecycle of a book and explore various aspects of digital marketing within the publishing sector. 

Program dates: September 13, 2026 - December 11, 2026

Location:  Hybrid (three days per week on-site (M-Th) in our New York office with one day remote)

Company lptop will be provided for the duration of the program.

 Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.

Pay rate: $17.00/hour

As a Workman Digital Marketing Intern, you will support the Digital Marketing team across select Workman Running Press Group imprints, including Workman, Workman Kids, Artisan, Black Dog & Leventhal, and Workman Calendars. This role will provide insight into various industry niches, allowing you to work closely with experienced professionals. Interns will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, assist with title campaigns including creating video and image content, and participate in departmental meetings.  

Qualifications: 

  • An interest in digital marketing with an emphasis on email marketing and paid advertising. 
  • An interest in exploring a diverse range of adult nonfiction and juvenile fiction and nonfiction titles. 
  • Experience producing digital content (ex. filming and editing social media videos, creating social media graphics)—we encourage you to share your work or college portfolio and samples! 
  • Familiarity with editing and office tools such as Canva, Capcut, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus. 
  • Experience with email marketing services like Mailchimp, Braze, or other email service providers is also a plus, but not required. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines. 
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to learn new software programs. 
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. 
  • An excitement for participating in and contributing to a fun, vibrant work environment with great company culture. 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Assist with newsletter campaigns, including copywriting, email building, and newsletter ideation. 
  • Assist with digital content creation for paid advertising campaigns and other related projects including social media image and video advertising assets including filming and editing short and longform content, video ideation, lifestyle photography, video scripting, and copywriting. 
  • Assist in building online stores for ecommerce promotions. 
  • Assist in monthly reporting for Digital Marketing. 
  • Attend department meetings and actively contribute ideas.
