Gigamon is seeking a self-motivated individual to join the Technical Publications team in providing Customer documentation for its highly acclaimed Visibility product portfolio. The individual will work closely with Product Managers, Development Engineers, QA, Field Support, Sales, and Solutions Engineers to develop and deliver customer documentation.  
As part of a dynamic cross-functional team, the candidate will thrive in helping improve the customer experience by delivering high-quality documentation for Gigamon portfolio of products. 
Job duties include: 
  • Develop customer-facing CLI and GUI-based documentation for Hardware and Software products, and Cloud based services, such as AWS, Azure, OpenStack, and so on.
  • Follow documentation standards and best practices.
  • Lead effective documentation reviews.
  • Participate in Engineering Specification reviews.
  • Review bug and enhancement reports for inclusion in release notes.
  • Provide documentation on time and in line with product release dates.
  • Be a customer advocate.
Managerial Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the Technical Publications team in accordance with organizational policies and objectives.
  • Develop standard documentation methods and tools to efficiently produce high quality documents.
  • Work with the team to build documentation architecture that scales for contributors in multiple sites.
  • Plan and direct documentation projects for timely delivery of documents and online content.
  • Manage subordinate staffs in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
Requirements: 
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in technical writing with 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience writing for networking and/or network security products is a MUST.
  • Expertise with MadCap Flare, MadCap Central, Acrobat, SnagIt, and PC Desktop tools.
  • Able to understand, explain and use complex technologies, has good working habits, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of information architecture, structured writing, HTML, XML, CSS, and DITA is a strong plus.
  • Self-starter, is able to multi-task, seek out information on assigned tasks in a fast-paced collaborative team environment with a passion to deliver high quality, customer documentation.
  • Academic degree in computer science, any other technical field, or Journalism.
