THE ROLE:   
 
 
We are actively seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations with diligence and expertise. This pivotal role involves overseeing the accounting department's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager will be instrumental in streamlining our financial processes, enhancing accuracy, and providing strategic insights to facilitate informed decision-making. This role requires you to be in-office three days a week. 
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:   
   

•    Financial Oversight & Reporting: Direct the month-end close process, ensuring financial reporting is completed accurately and within established timelines. Lead the preparation and detailed analysis of financial statements and performance reports, identifying trends and variances.
•    Account Reconciliation Expertise: Serve as the primary authority on specific accounts, quickly identifying and rectifying discrepancies. Oversee precise bank reconciliations and manage complex accounting transactions, including foreign exchange impacts and intercompany activities.
•    Cost Analysis & Management: Spearhead monthly production cost analysis, working closely with the production team to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting. Drive the evaluation of financial implications of production activities, presenting findings to senior management.
•    Process Improvement & System Enhancements: Identify opportunities for process optimization within the accounting cycle and spearhead initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Lead the integration and improvement of accounting software and systems, ensuring they meet the organization's evolving needs.
•    Compliance & Auditing: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate comprehensive annual audits. Ensure rigorous adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements, managing all aspects of tax filing and documentation.
•    Strategic Collaboration & Support: Provide strategic financial insights and analyses to support executive decision-making. Actively collaborate across departments to ensure cohesive financial planning and reporting.
•    Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and professional growth.

   
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:    
 

•    Proven track record as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant with leadership responsibilities.
•    Strong foundation in GAAP and a clear understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
•    Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects efficiently, adhering to deadlines without sacrificing quality.
•    Superior organizational and time management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with major financial software platforms (NetSuite, Salesforce, Tipalti, Netgain, FloQast, Domo preferred)

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
•    A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, with a preference for a mix of public and private sector roles.
•    CPA certification or active pursuit thereof is highly desirable.
