The Buyer II will review and analyze purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information, solicit bids from approved supplier lists or heatsheets tied to an outage procurement plan (OPP) and create and administer purchase orders. Will ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and policies in addition to working with vendors to ensure all invoices are accurate, complete, and paid, including follow up on timely goods receipt by Requesters and supplier invoice submissions.  The Buyer will partner with the Purchasing Agent(s) and Commodity Manager(s) required to implement purchases to established strategic sourcing plans and stakeholder requirements, processes and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review, evaluate, and monitor purchase requisitions for proper authorization, specifications, and compliance requirements (i.e., PO submitted to an approved supplier (based on any technical qualifications and/or certification standards)
  • Identify and select approved suppliers to procure materials and/or services meeting criteria of price, quality, availability, and delivery dates
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships give order fulfillment objectives
  • Research and resolve supplier related receiving and accounts payable (payment hold) issues
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of goods and/or services
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and procedures
  • Maintain and provide input and support towards improvement of FieldCore purchasing systems, tools and processes.
  • Manage and maintain targets/goals on all Buyer related performance health metrics (PHM), including conducting root cause assessments to promote corrective actions
  • Support and/or lead transactional savings goals/objectives as assigned
  • Collaborate and partner cross-functionally and cross-regionally with manager, sourcing colleagues, functional partners (i.e., Finance/accounts payable, etc.) and stakeholders
  • Perform other duties to help proactively drive FieldCore Sourcing vision and align with overall company core values.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • High School diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years purchasing experience
  • Experience with procurement and purchasing systems is required
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment and collaborating cross-functionally
  • English proficiency required
  • Minimal to no travel required on a recurring basis
Desired Characteristics:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures, including vendor qualification and performance monitoring
  • Solid analytical skills and strong results-oriented aptitude
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office and MRP / ERP systems
  • Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Skillful in establishing and maintaining working relationships with departments and suppliers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently with time constraints
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and creative thought processing skills
