 Position reports to the Vice President, Merchandising

 DESCRIPTION

The Soccer90 Manager is a full-time soccer specialty retail leadership position.  The ideal candidate will love soccer while having a solid grasp on retail analytics, visual merchandising, soccer product knowledge and a keen awareness of soccer products & trends. The retail manager will enthusiastically lead a retail staff in maintaining a quality retail experience while also developing and implementing successful retail strategies that ensure all retail business objective are met.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily retail operations and ensuring a well-managed, clean & organized, and visually appealing retail environment (including warehouse/storage locations) is maintained that elevates the overall shopping experience.
  • Support the selling & fulfillment process of Soccer90.com, Hall of Fame scarf kiosk, in-store customization program, and FCDfanshop.com.
  • Execute in an efficient & timely manner the management and movement of physical inventory including product transfers, physical inventories, tagging merchandise, backstock organization and stock & filling the sales floor.
  • Create and execute the in-store visual merchandising strategy and story-telling by utilizing fixtures, signage, lighting, mannequins and displays that emphasize new items, product categories and collections.
  • Lead and supervise the retail team with timely training & coaching, clearly communicated directives, performance reviews & feedback.
  • Maintain an exceptional shopping experience by developing an environment focused on a high level of customer service.
  • Submit in a timely manner weekly and monthly financial reports using retail analytics detailing the state of the business operations including but not limited to sell-through, cost of sales, gross margins, inventory turnover rate, and labor/sales ratios.
  • Analyze retail & product trends, identify opportunities, and make informed purchasing, marketing & promotion, and visual merchandising recommendations to upper management.
  • Coordinate and ensure staffing requirements are met, including weekly staff schedules.
  • Ensure a consistent store opening and closing process is executed efficiently – and that key-holder rights are managed.
  • Carry-out and ensure all department directives, policies, and procedures are performed in the store.
  • Oversee the daily & weekly POS closeout process – X-outs, deposits, and cash management.
  • Address customer complaints and service expectations professionally and efficiently, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee cashiering and check-out processes using the store's Point-of-Sale systems.
  • Manage various merchandising tasks, including receiving, tagging new merchandise, physical inventories, product transfers, and display setups.
  • Stay well-informed about soccer-related trends, brands, products, and influential figures in the soccer retail landscape.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Demonstrated passion for soccer and strong understanding of the sport's culture.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a retail team.
  • Solid knowledge of retail math and analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management.
  • Demonstrated retail experience and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Proficiency in visual merchandising principles to create compelling displays.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with solid organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work during regular store hours and special events as needed.
  • Knowledge of Lightspeed Retail-x (formerly Vend) & Shopify POS platforms, and Netsuite inventory management system a plus.

Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • Able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • 5+ years retail experience; experience in soccer specialty a strong plus.
  • Personable, enthusiastic, motivated self-starter, and collaborative team player.

 Physical Demands

  • Long periods of standing or sitting.
  • Lifting and moving heavy boxes and displays. 
  • Normal hearing and sight are necessary.
