Electrical Engineer
Description
- Own hardware design and lead development of the DC Fast Charger Controller and related PCB’s.
- Design and document electrical interfaces between Power Cabinets and Dispenser.
- Own internal power cabinet electrical design and wire harness.
- Maintain BOM and source components.
- Design and release wiring schematics and track version control.
- Hands-on design and validation of prototype hardware.
- Develop and manage suppliers including board house, qualification testing, field testing, and complete system implementation.
- Ensure design maturity through characterizations and debugging on prototype hardware.
- Define and support system level EOL procedures and test equipment.
- Work cross functionally with Software and Firmware teams to drive test and hardware requirements.
- Collaborate on system level DFMEA and collaborate with Systems lead and technical SMEs to refine.
- Participate in design and project reviews and with Asia-based suppliers, virtually and in person.
Required Skills and Experience
- BS or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or related field.
- >3 years of experience in Hardware design of analog, digital and mixed signal interfaces.
- Experience with schematic design tools, PCB layout, FPGA development systems and tools, simulation tools (PSpice, Matlab, etc.)
- Experience with protocols including SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, and PLC.
- Working Knowledge of High Voltage systems and Power Electronics.
- Proficiency with test and measurement tools (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, spectrum analyzer).
- Be a good self-starter, have a strong ability to deal with ambiguity, establish priorities, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.
- Have good organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
- Occasional domestic and international required.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with embedded Linux devices is a plus.
- Knowledge of EV protocols such as CCS, J1772, DIN 701212 and ISO 15118 is a plus.
