Position Summary: 
 
EVgo is seeking a Permitting Coordinator to support the Development Engineering team in managing the permitting process for EV charging infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for coordinating permit submissions, tracking approvals, and ensuring timely communication between internal teams, external vendors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). The Permitting Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining project momentum by ensuring all permitting documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This position is well-suited for someone with experience in permitting, construction administration, or project coordination, and who is eager to contribute to the growth of clean transportation infrastructure. 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and support documentation to AHJs in coordination with design and development teams.
  • Track permit status across multiple jurisdictions and update internal databases and spreadsheets with real-time progress. 
  • Communicate with AHJs, design vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely responses to permit-related inquiries. 
  • Assist in reviewing permit drawings and construction documents for completeness and compliance prior to submission. 
  • Maintain organized records of all permitting documentation, correspondence, and approvals. 
  • Support the Permitting Manager and the Development Engineering team in identifying and addressing permitting delays or escalations. 
  • Coordinate with the Policy team on local permitting challenges that may require engagement with elected officials or municipal leadership. 
  • Contribute to process improvements by documenting lessons learned and supporting updates to permitting workflows and templates. 

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project tracking tools (e.g., Excel, Salesforce, or similar). 
  • Experience in EV infrastructure, renewable energy, or utility projects is a plus. 
For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $62,000.00 USD to $74,000.00 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval).
