We are looking to add a Capital Assets Manager to our growing team in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

 

The Capital Assets Manager oversees the timely and accurate processing of capital assets information in compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory, legal, and company policies. The ideal candidate has in depth experience with full cycle accounting, capital project accounting, fixed assets, and strong leadership skills. As the Capital Assets Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to showcase your leadership and ingenuity skills by leading and mentoring your very own finance team, develop and implement new innovative processes, procedures, and tools to advance EPCORs capital asset financial reporting and analysis operations, and present your teams successes to leaders via capital results.

 

What you’d be responsible for

 

  • Develop and implement stratum appropriate (3-12 month) deliverables within the context of the financial business plan (including mission, vision, values, strategic positioning, operational plan and resource plan).
  • Ensure the delivery of accurate financial results against appropriate performance metrics.
    • Timely and accurate reporting of capital assets information to meeting financial reporting, budgeting and regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Excellent understanding of Oracle Fixed Assets system to support EUSA requirements.
    • Supervision of the Capital Analyst/Accountant positions through all tasks required to complete reporting requirements and planning.
  • Identification, review and supervision of the production of capital assets information and variance analysis to support monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and utilize sound working knowledge of Oracle Fixed Assets system and other related systems such as Oracle Projects to ensure delivery of financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and positive working relationship with EUSA operational areas including Developer Services, Capital Project Managers, Operations, as well as Management in order to meeting financial reporting requirements and to provide operational financial support, analysis, and preparation of ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Support continuous improvement in the area of financial reporting and analysis, pertaining to capital assets, through identifying areas and ideas for improvement and carrying out continuous improvement initiatives (IFRS and Regulatory reporting).
  • Recruit and develop staff, as well as establish, measure, and manage workforce to cultivate a customer service focus and culture. Ensure that all team member training and career development needs are met by establishing career development plans by identifying development goals, milestones and metrics.
  • Develop and nurture a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.

 

What’s required to be successful

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA, or equivalent preferred.
  • 7+ years relevant accounting-related job experience required.
  • 2+ years supervisory experience or equivalent required.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent planning, time management, organizing skills and decision making.
  • Extensive experience in identifying continuous process improvement opportunities and engage in implementing improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and coaching direct reports and establishing career development plans by identifying development goals, milestones and measures.
  • Utility industry knowledge required.
  • Advanced knowledge of USGAAP, IFRS, and regulatory practices required.
  • Advanced experience in Excel, Oracle, and/or similar accounting software products.
