What you will be doing
- Develop consumer market single phase DC/AC power systems and lithium-ion based energy storage systems
- In-depth knowledge of Battery Management Systems (BMS) design for safety, functionality and performance is a plus
- Work with cross-functional teams of hardware, firmware, test automation, mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supply chain
- Specify, design, verify and debug complex circuits and PCBs for our portable energy system products
- Design validation and optimization of products and sub-systems
- Analog and digital circuit design schematic capture, layout capture and design optimization in tools like Allegro, OrCAD etc
- Assist product compliance engineers to achieve global certifications for our products (deep understanding of creepage, clearance, spacing, EMI compliance)
- Specify engineering requirements and support creating test plans and generate test reports in JAMA
- Provide technical mentoring to manufacturing and field service engineers
- Raise the bar for technical excellence, accurate documentation and scientific rigor
Who you are and what you bring
- B.E. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with Power Electronic specialization and 8+ years’ experience outside of university or
- Masters in Power Electronics and 6+ years or
- PhD in Power Electronics and 3+ years
- Developing electronic products from the concept stage to market launch in a commercial environment
- Expert in DC-AC inverter power electronics hardware design or similar power converter design for domestic UPS like products
- Component selection, schematic capture, design optimization
- Knowledge of circuit schematic, PCB layout and simulation tools
- Practical experience of in-depth bench testing and debugging of hardware designs
- Circuit design for high fidelity digital and analog signals and low EMI emissions
- Experience with regulatory and compliance certifications to UL1741, IEC62109, UL2743, IEEE 1547, CEI-021, VDE-021
- High fidelity analog and high-speed digital circuit design
- High-volume product development
- Test automation
- OrCad schematic capture and Cadence Allegro PCB layout
- Python programming
- Knowledge of Embedded software
- Power supply and inverter topologies
- Control theory
