About the role

We are looking for a DVT (Desing Verification & Validation Testing) Manager to join our growing team.  


What you will do  

    • Oversee the DVT execution plan and provide technical direction to the electronics hardware DVT, firmware DVT, and system DVT (understanding of mobile app or cloud DVT is a plus) 
    • Develop test strategies & plans to assure Enphase’s portable energy solution’s hardware and firmware functions per engineering requirements and design specifications. 
    • Develop and execute test strategies to ensure safety and optimal functionality for Enphase’s portable energy solution product to meet worldwide standards. 
    • Design and implement automated test systems in Python and Ruby enabling continuous integration of the firmware development team and regression testing. 
    • Collaborate with the hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to assure firmware is designed for test and requirements. 
    • Confer with other Quality Assurance teams, Development and Product Management to participate in project planning and ensure the effective testing of Enphase’s products within design constraints. 
    • Use test automation, power meters, oscilloscopes, DC supplies and other lab test equipment to ensure complete functional, efficiency, and safety testing coverage for Enphase’s portable energy solution’s hardware and firmware. 
    • Coach and train new members of technical staff on Enphase’s test equipment, procedures, and automation software. 
    • Troubleshoot the system failures encountered during DVT and analyse root cause for the failures. 
    • Work with development team to aid fixing the failures encountered during system DVT. 
    • Responsible for documentation of test plans and test reports managed in JAMA and Arena. 
    • Read system DVT plan and files as well as system documents to aid troubleshooting during system DVT in tools like JAMA, JIRA
    • Database management for test results, test data analysis in Document Management System like Arena either manually or using python-based data analysis script.

    Who you are and what you bring:  

     

      • B.E./ B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. / PhD. in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering (preferably specialisation/expertise in power systems / power electronics).
      • Experience outside of university:  Bachelor and 15+ years or Masters and 12+ years or PhD and 8+ years.  
      • Must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role as Hardware DVT of products having inverters, BMS and/or similar power electronics converters; products that utilise firmware control, thus with experience in firmware and system DVT is added advantage.
      • Expertise in DVT of BMS (Battery Management Systems) for Lithium-Ion Battery (or similar solid / semi-solid battery) for safe and reliable operations.
      • Expertise in DVT of bi-directional inverters for consumer and/or lite commercial applications. Experience with solar integrated application including MPPT is a plus.
      • Expertise in testing reliability of hardware.
      • Experience with characterization and qualification of intentional radiators: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular.
      • Must have thorough understanding and experience in new product development/introduction processes that involve iterative process for hardware, Agile with use of Tools like JAMA, JIRA (or similar tools) and DMS (data management system) like Arena.
      • Must have 3+ years of automating DVT using Python programming, controlling test equipment, and analysing data.
      • Experience through the various stages of hardware design, implementation, test, production, and maintenance.
      • Must have experience in collaborating with other functionals like mechanical, hardware, firmware development teams, system engineering, product manager, production industrialisation team, field service technicians, cloud/mobile App developers, product security and reliability.
      • In depth knowledge of relevant worldwide standards such as UL2743, IEEE 1547, 1741SA, CA Rule 21, HECO SRD (Systems Requirement Document) 1.1, AS/NZS 4777.2:2015, BIS, IEC 62109, UL1973, and UL9540 standards.
      • Knowledgeable in worldwide electrical advanced grid functions and faults conditions
      • In-depth familiarity with AC grid simulators and solar panel simulators
      • In-depth familiarity with high volume product development, industrialisation, and maintenance.
      • Must have played direct manager role for 3+ years for DVT teams.
      • Experience through the various stages of embedded software or firmware design, implementation, test, deployment, field upgrade and maintenance is a plus.
      • Experience in testing products using mobile App, using cloud Apps, testing product cyber security features is a plus.
