Egnyte is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer for the Hybrid-Cloud Software Engineering team. This team builds software that enables enterprise customers' journey to the cloud, initiates the lifecycle of their data in the cloud and keeps on-premise data in sync with the cloud by means of advanced cloud caching and syncing solutions. The ideal candidate has a shared passion for building large-scale distributed systems, interest in data storage and management systems and the ability to tackle the complexities of integrating diverse subsystems, while collaborating in a global team environment.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with fast-paced development team in designing and implementing our next generation, hybrid-cloud file sharing solution.
  • Research and leverage latest cloud caching and syncing technologies to develop features, performance improvements and scalability for file sharing in cloud-to-on-premises.
  • Own end-to-end feature development, from design through hands-on implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring in production and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage big data analytics to drive product design, usage and adoption.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex problems that may involve third party software, network configurations and software relating to scaling and performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers, collaborate with Operations team, and work closely with Products team on roadmap items.
  • Hybrid office model – 3 days per week in office

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in design and development of highly scalable enterprise level software products.
  • Hands-on work experience with one or more programming languages C and GoLang required, Python is nice to have.
  • Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with designing and developing micro service based software solutions running Linux operating system environment.
  • Ability to challenge and redefine existing architectural fundamentals to provide next level of performance and scalability; ability to foresee post-deployment challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with design, development and troubleshooting of scalable web services, REST APIs, advanced file systems and modern operating systems.
  • Data storage and management systems experience
  • Experience with modern DevOps technologies such as Docker and container orchestration, service deployment, monitoring and scaling
  • Ability to work with multicultural, global teams and closely coordinate with cross-functional teams in different time-zones.
  • Passion to deliver enterprise-grade products to customers and to continuously work with the engineering team to refine the product in the field.
  • Preference for candidates with cloud storage experience, experience with running and maintaining applications on public clouds like GCP, AWS etc, familiarity with protocols like S3, SMB, NFS etc and experience with SQL and NOSQL databases.

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $185K - $215K annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
