Sr. Software Engineer - Cloud

Overview:

We are leveraging traditional J2EE tools, databases, cutting-edge analytical tools, and many other innovative technologies to help modernize the healthcare industry. The Java Software Engineer is an integral part of our engineering team, helping us develop our innovative software products. The successful candidate will focus on learning the existing systems and will participate in extending them as the business grows. The successful candidate must have strong Java knowledge, experience working with multi-tier applications, and experience working with server-side web application software for functionality across multiple browser platforms.

What you will do:

•     Design, develop, and document software components using best practices
•     Own the design and code for the components built for specific products
•     Contribute original ideas and architectural thinking
•     Maintain and support the current system and ongoing programs
•     Hands-on development and maintenance of software applications/components
•     Utilize a test-driven development approach to deliver commercial quality code

What you will bring:

• Strong Java development skills: 5+ years in commercial hands-on Java software development.
• Hands-on Continuous Integration experience is a must (writing CI/CD pipelines / Helm Charts / Shell scripts).
• Hands-on experience with a Cloud platform is a must (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Hands-on experience with Dockers/ Kubernetes is a must. Experience with OpenShift is a plus.
• Working with at least one database platform (SQL Server, Oracle or DB2) is a must.
• Ability to understand and create Low Level Design document is a must.
• Good knowledge of XML processing (and related technologies) using java (or 3rd party libs) is a must.
• Knowledge of GIT / SVN / Maven is a must.
• Experience with Agile Development
• Experience developing distributed applications potentially with Scala / Akka or similar technologies is a big plus.
• Experience with Groovy / Drools is a plus.
• Experience in contribution to open source projects is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with some guidance.
• Ability to learn quickly and effectively apply new knowledge, demonstrating the desire to stay in touch with emerging technologies.
