The LHSC District Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the successful operation of a district in accordance with Dynacare’s strategic and operating plans. The primary function is building great teams through a strong focus on people leader development, positive employee relations and creating a work environment that supports the delivery of the ideal customer experience and supports the Dynacare Difference.

Strategy & Vision
- Develop strategies to maintain efficient operation of Laboratory and Health Services Centers while maintaining and fostering a strong team environment.
- Keep informed of new trends, developments, laws and regulations, and technology with respect to the health care industry and related discipline, and movement of competitors and external clients.
- Implement, evaluate, and, if necessary, adjust the strategic plan to meet changing business needs.
- Participate in senior staff meetings to coordinate departmental goals and objectives with those of the organization as a whole.
- Communicates vision and purpose with enthusiasm and encourages others to buy in.
- Participate in the development of department budget.
Enhance Employee Engagement through a Strong Focus on People
- Conduct regular and consistent communication meetings with Regional Managers to ensure consistency of information and attainment of district and organizational goals and objectives.
- Proactively engage in recognition activities with your team of employees.
- Leading cross-functional/change initiatives related to the improving patient experience
- Develop a rapport with all Regional Managers, Team Leads and front line team members by practicing fair and equitable treatment of all staff in all interactions.
- Responsible for developing and evolving training programs for new hires and existing team members.
- Responsible for training regimen and training of specialty testing.
- Working in partnership with Regional Managers on IDPs, development plans and elevating both the development and collaboration of regional teams.
- Effectively administer human resource programs to help foster an environment of positive employee relations, empowerment and involvement while working in compliance with established human resources policies and practices.
Delivering the Ideal Customer Experience and Personalized Health Solutions
- Provide leadership and coaching to ensure customer centric experiences with every interaction in district LHSCs.
- Implement customer service strategies and processes, deliver training programs to staff and implement KPIs to effectively monitor and improve upon customer service strategies.
- Responsible for enhancing a patient centric culture
- Responsible to maintain a strong working relationship with local area physicians with respect to the quality of work in LHSCs and exceed Patient/Customer Experiences with Dynacare
Deliver on Results
- Conduct metric reviews of area LHSC’s to ensure key indicators of cost, quality, delivery, safety and customer experience are being met or exceeded, and introduce corrective actions where required.
- Establish departmental goals, priorities and individual goals for front-line team members.
- Plan and set goals and objectives for the future of the department and/or designated sites within the district.
- Communicate and focus on goals on a continual basis – during all in person location visits and through all communications.
- Conduct metric reviews of district LHSC’s to ensure key indicators of cost, quality, delivery, safety and customer experience are being met or exceeded, and introduce corrective actions where required.
- Share Results Constantly with Regional Managers as to how they are progressing toward location, region and district goals.
- Perform ongoing feedback and coaching during location visits in metrics that are below the established goal levels.
Operations Optimization, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively within a team of LHSC Managers to ensure a standardized national approach to processes, procedures and systems.
- Ensure workflow and process standardization in every region and meet/exceed associated metric targets.
- Maintain a relationship and initiate a two-way forum with Business Development and Customer Service teams to relay or escalate concerns, new Physicians opportunities and future inquiries.
- Constantly review and implement new processes to drive continuous improvement in the operation.
- Analyze patient volumes and reports on efficient operation of the district. Interpret and report on budget variances and develop strategies for maintaining budget costs and FTES.
- Monitor compliance; collection, preparation, and analysis of departmental reports and statistics.
- Accountable for accurate payroll information by auditing timesheets for accuracy, approving timesheets and submitting to payroll in a timely manner. Regularly monitor vacation and sick time usage to spot trends, make adjustments and ensure optimal staff coverage in all locations.
- Work collaboratively within a team of LHSC District Managers to ensure a standardized national approach to processes, procedures and systems.
- Ensure workflow and process standardization in every location and meet/exceed associated metric targets.
- Optimize workflow in the district locations ensuring that we exceed internal/external client requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with the Operations facilities department to maintain facilities, renovations and equipment.
- Ensure that all district locations are inspection ready at all times adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all employees are up to date with mandatory training requirements in accordance with industry standards and protocols established by Dynacare.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Health and Safety

- Participate in and implement health and safety programs and activities such as training, communication, inspection, investigation and general safety promotion.
- Accountable for the protection of employees’ health and safety by advising employees of hazards and dangers in the workplace and taking every reasonable precaution.
What YOU bring to the role:
- Knowledge of all applicable laboratory regulatory requirements
- 5+ years Leadership experience in a high paced, customer focused environment (required)
- Previous related experience required to perform job: 3-5 Years
- Diploma or Degree in a health care field, Business, Marketing or other related field, or equivalent experience.
- Lean Six Sigma and/or Change Management training- required
- Knowledge of technical procedures as they apply to laboratory testing, shipment logistics and specimen collection.
- Proven attention to detail, excellent organizational, prioritization and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and work effectively with all levels of management and non-management employees.
- Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to engage direct/indirect reports to promote a customer centric environment.
- Knowledge of technical procedures as they apply to laboratory testing, shipment logistics and specimen collection.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office and applicable software applications).

- Travel Required (60% to 80%)
Pay rate: $96,000 to $120,000 annually
The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
