Test Kitchen Shopping Assistant
Located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the People Inc. Food Studios, a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill/BBQ station, and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Assignment Details:
8-16 hours a week
Start date: Immediately
End date: 6 months with potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $20
Location: Birmingham, AL - US
Assignment Responsibilities:
- The Freelance Test Kitchen Shopping Assistant will shop alongside a team of shoppers to procure ingredients for our test kitchens.
- This person will go to a variety of grocery stores, depending on ingredient availability, including but not limited to Publix, Whole Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Fresh Market, Hometown Supermarket, Mi Pueblo, etc.
- Along with shopping, this person will help sort the groceries and distribute to test kitchen staff.
- We are looking for someone with a working knowledge of ingredients for culinary use, but also someone who can quickly and efficiently work their way around a grocery store.
- Shopper will be trained twice before shopping on their own.
- Shopping list and credit card will be supplied and available by 4pm each Friday for Monday morning shopping assignment, and by 4pm Tuesday for Wednesday morning shopping assignment.
Skills/Experience:
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and has experience working in Google Sheets (or Excel).
- Working knowledge of ingredients for culinary use.
- Skilled at quickly and efficiently maneuvering around a variety of grocery stores.
- Culinary experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours as needed.
