Domtar is seeking an Intern to join our Human Resources team in Plymouth, NC.

The Human Resources intern will directly assist the Human Resources team with a wide range of projects including but not limited to Policy creation, Early Career Networks, Performance Management initiatives, among others. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. He or she will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources serves in supporting the business. You will be exposed to various Human Resources functions and activities as they are engaged in departmental projects and team discussions.

Key Focus Area/Accountabilities

  • Communicate with key stakeholders on the status of assigned tasks and changes to completion dates.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner, maintaining good customer relations and positive communications/interactions.
  • Abide by all state and federal laws and guidelines including understanding of FLSA, FMLA, ADA and working knowledge of OSHA.
  • Perform additional related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited program or a recent graduate. Desired majors include Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, General Business or an interest in HR in Manufacturing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
