Wood Procurement Specialist
 

Domtar Paper, the largest integrated manufacturer and marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America, has an opening for a Wood Procurement Specialist serving our Nekoosa, WI and Rothschild, WI Mills

 

Your Role:

 

This position reports to the Wood Procurement Manager at the Nekoosa, WI Mill, but has responsibility at both mills. As part of our team, this individual will support the wood procurement functions and certification requirements (SFI, FSC, PEFC, EUDR, ISO) of the Nekoosa, WI and Rothschild, WI paper mills.  Depending on business needs, this position will require a minimum of one day per week at each of our two mills (approximately an hour apart). There are some opportunities for working remotely for the duration of the week. Responsibilities may include:

 

  • Coordinate professional operation of the wood procurement department.
  • Managing supplier data and payments in the LIMS system.
  • Management and reporting of purchase tract information for both mills.
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting of fiber quality and cost data.
  • Input into the month end reporting and budgeting processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key resources/stakeholders at both of our mills.
  • Provide accurate data to support decision making for the Wood Procurement managers.
  • Monitor evolving developments within the certification and participate in action planning to meet the requirements on “day one” of the EUDR’s implementation.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the certification reporting requirements and recommend/implement strategies for meeting those requirements.
  • Ensure timely filing of all Domtar certifications and EUDR data requests.
  • Collaborate with those responsible for certification reporting from other Domtar facilities.
  • Collaborate with vendors/suppliers to ensure compliance with certification demands.
  • Periodically audit compliance of vendors/suppliers.

 

Your Profile: Self-starter who is highly organized, has strong time-management skills, is deadline driven, and can “flex” schedule to the needs of the business. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. The successful candidate will be developing many of their own processes and goals and objectives.

 

 

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will be highly competent with the tools in Microsoft Office. Some experience with an ERP system is required. Proven ability to operate in a remote work setting is a must. Live within a 2-hour radius of both mills.

 

Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a manufacturing support role is beneficial.  Previous experience using the LIMS payment system is desirable, but not necessary.
