Innovation Specialist – EAPP

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Innovation Manager, the Technology Innovation Specialist II will work with Platform Technology Development and Strategic Marketing to develop new /emerging technology and assess product application needs thru customer, converter, and OEM engagement. Support strategic business development through technical understanding and insight, providing technical guidance to help maximize our development and operational successes while introducing new or different technologies.  Substantial experience in technical, sales, and manufacturing aspects of paper products is required

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Technology Innovation & Platform Development Projects
  • Collaborate with the Technology groups across Domtar’s Pulp and Paper businesses to discover and share potential technology projects.
  • Manage technology projects through the stage gate process, identifying and adhering to aggressive timelines and communicating on the critical project metrics.

 

Required Education/Professional Experience

  • B.S in Paper Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of Pulp & Paper manufacturing and end-user experience

 

 

Preferred Education/Professional Experiences

 

  • Experience and/or certification in project development and management
  • Experience in innovative environments and applications
  • PhD or M.S in pulp, paper or cellulose-based products or similar field(s)
