Mgr. Product Regulatory & Stewardship

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director, Technology Innovation, the Manager Product Regulatory & Stewardship will work with Sales, Technology Manager, Manufacturing, and Product Management to provide timely, coordinated responses to customer and business requests. The individual will develop process and relationships to remain current on pertinent, changing regulatory requirements and provide technical support and guidance on emerging issues, regulatory trends, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide primary product regulatory support for the Pulp, Paper, & Packaging business units ensuring efficient and compliant processes across multiple products and markets.

Interpret regulatory requirements and provide input to NPD, technical and sales/product management and manufacturing facilities on product additive changes; develop and provide training.

Identify, collect, and present data needed for Product Regulatory, Governmental & NGO Compliance Customer requirements, and related Customer/third party requests.

Develop and manage systems for information from suppliers and production needed to respond to customer inquiries for product regulatory requirements.

Maintain current knowledge of pertinent, changing regulatory requirements and issues through active participation in Industry, Governmental & NGO associations.

Provide technical support and guidance on emerging issues, regulatory trends, etc. to Domtar’s Governmental Relations Group

Required Education/Professional Experience

 

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in the Forest Products or related Industry
  • Experience in the various regulatory processes: FDA Food Contact, Safety Data Sheets, Prop 65, Toxic Substances Control Act, RoHS, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preferred Education/Professional Experience

 

  • Experience with FDA Direct food contact regulations and compliance, Lacey Act; National, State & Province regulatory legislation impacting pulp, paper, tissue & lumber products including food and medical products.
