Description
Triad Associates (part of the Concordia Wireless family) is a nationwide construction services firm specializing in the development of wireless communication sites, with a focus on supporting telecom networks. We are contracted by major carries to facilitate network upgrades including conversions from 4G to 5G. Our services include construction management, electrical and civil modernization, antenna and line (A&L) tower work, tower maintenance, fiber optic network deployment, commissioning and integration, directional boring, trenching, and excavating. Our expertise spans a wide range of projects.
To support our growing client base, we are seeking candidates interested in HDD Locator (traveling role) positions. The HDD Locator is responsible for locating, tracking, and documenting underground utilities and bore heads during horizontal directional drilling operations. The role requires working under the direction of a Foreman or Supervisor to ensure the successful completion of daily tasks in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Using electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), GPS, and gyro tracking systems to provide accurate, real-time positioning and utility information.
- Performing comprehensive surface and subsurface utility locating using electromagnetic locators, line tracers, GPR, and other detection equipment.
- Conducting pre-bore site reconnaissance and marking out critical infrastructure using paint, flags, and GPS coordinates.
- Maintaining accurate digital and paper documentation of all locate activities, including electronic locate tickets, as-built sketches, GPS waypoint files, survey logs, photographic records, and reports required for regulatory compliance and client deliverables.
- Calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting locating equipment, sonde batteries, transmitters, antennas, and GPS receivers.
- Managing tool inventory, scheduling preventative maintenance, and coordinating repairs to ensure operational readiness for project mobilizations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification or specialized training in drilling operations preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience using locating equipment
- Skilled in reading, interpreting and applying construction drawings and bore plans
- Competent in using smartphones and laptops for documentation and communication purposes
- Able to handle equipment weighting up to 90 lbs. Comfortable working in confined spaces and around heavy machinery
Work Conditions:
- Work is primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
- May involve long hours, weekend, or night shifts depending on project timelines.
- Physically demanding role, requiring lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
