We are currently seeking a Vice President of Development to join our team in the hospitality industry. As Vice President of Development, you will play a key role in driving growth and expansion for our company. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about hospitality and has a strong background in development. The Vice President of Development is responsible for sourcing, selling, and closing third-party Hotel Management Agreements with new and existing clients for Commonwealth Hotels. Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Development will proactively and positively throughout the industry to further the perception, reputation, and financial success of Commonwealth Hotels.       

Responsibilities for the Vice President of Development include:      
  • Develops networks designed to source new clients for the organization 
  • Work independently to discover new potential owners and to explore new opportunities with current owners 
  • Identify and develop resources and strategies relevant to business development and sales goals 
  • Proactively identifies ways in which to market the Company’s services to the industry and prospective clients and then acts to take advantage of the opportunities   
  • Maintains a prospect list of potential clients and routinely hones list of qualified target clients   
  • Maintains excellent relationships with all current clients and looks to build upon the fundamental framework of the relationship   
  • Produces new business opportunities for the Company and closes new Management Agreements   
  • In conjunction with the President, the Vice President of Development, leads, negotiates, and finalizes Management Agreements with Clients for new third-party Management Agreement
Requirements for the Vice President of Development include:   
  • Experience in working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  • Must have experience of working in a corporate hospitality environment
  • Excellent negotiation skills, a proven track record of successfully pitching for new business
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through the generation of leads at all levels of the industry
  • Must have experience of successfully developing, implementing, and benefitting from business development strategies
  • Proven track record of achieving sales goals
  • Must possess a proven track record of superior performance and results in delivering B2B clients  Must possess strong leadership capabilities
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Possess reliable problem-solving ability 
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
  • Requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Must be self-directed and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision 
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical processes, or procedures. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales-related fields of study, including at least 5 years in client relationship management, professional services, and business development role
