Come Join Our Team! We are seeking an experienced Hotel Event Planning Manager.

The Event Planning Manager is responsible for servicing sales groups. Servicing of these groups includes facilitating reservation process, menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel meeting services. Responsibilities also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with resort staff to ensure a high level of service. The Event Planning Manager also hosts planning tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and events staff. The Manager maintains a thorough knowledge of the hotel and all its products, programs and services as well as awareness of other roles and responsibilities throughout the organization. In addition to maintaining our vision by adhering to our values, this position must provide the highest level of service to our guests in all sales related functions while maximizing rate and occupancy.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who is passionate, creative, detail-oriented, professional, and provides excellent service to clients.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Executing on-site events and ensuring high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases
· Plan, upsell, and detail the program with the client
· Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events
· Assist the Director of Catering Sales and Events with any pertinent duties
· Organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals
· Timely communication to clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person
· Create and maintain relationships with clients including hosting planning tours and meetings
· Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution
· Reviews meeting planner surveys and follows up with clients
· Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures
· Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill
· Manages group room blocks and meeting space for groups
· Identifies operational challenges associated with their group and determines how to best work with the property staff and client to solve these opportunities and/or develop alternative solutions
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required; College related degree preferred
1 – 2 years of experience in event management, preferably for a full-service hotel
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Proficient in general computer knowledge.
Excellent customer relations, communication, presentation, and organization skills are of utmost importance.
Excellent time management, problem-solving and organizational skills
Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, based upon in-house groups and events.
