Essential Duties:
- Provides advanced medical care and oversight for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a State Supported Living Center (SSLC).
- Diagnoses and treats individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs.
- Develops and implements individualized health care plans with measurable goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including families, APRNs, PAs, consultants, and community medical providers.
- Participates in treatment team meetings and advocates for the medical needs of individuals served.
- Monitors and ensures high-quality, integrated medical service delivery for assigned caseload.
- Completes timely and accurate medical documentation and required reports.
- Identifies trends and medical issues, offering solutions to improve individual outcomes and care quality.
- Shares on-call responsibilities with other qualified medical staff.
- Provides treatment to HHSC employees for work-related injuries.
- Supports initiatives aimed at achieving compliance with the DOJ Settlement Agreement.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Medical Doctor in the State of Texas.
- Must have current registration certificates from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
- Must possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) as defined by Medicare Part B.
- Must be enrolled as a provider for both Medicaid and Medicare Part B.
