Tax Analyst II (Detroit, MI)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Tax Analyst II completes the disbursement of tax installments, monitors for delinquent taxes on non-escrow loans, processes force placed escrow for taxes, and oversees tax vendor processes. They ensure tax administration duties are performed timely and accurately. This person is an industry expert who must have significant experience, knowledge, and understanding of escrow account management. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and collaborating with other departments to deliver exceptional service.
Highly prefer employee to work on-site at Troy, MI office but may consider remote for the right candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Completes tracking, monitoring, disbursing of tax installments related to mortgage loans.
- Monitors the placement of force placed escrow for delinquent taxes, ensuring timely payment of tax installments moving forward.
- Processes various reports for tax tracking and monitoring with vendors.
- Ensures the timely and accurate payment of real estate taxes in accordance with due dates.
- Orders tax contracts from the tax vendor on newly originated and acquired loans.
- Verifies map, parcel, and legal description information as needed.
- Accurately documents systems with comprehensive status updates.
- Manages daily task work queue and monthly bulk processing.
- Receives and reviews delinquent tax reports and monitors the delinquent tax notification cycle.
- Collaborates with other departments to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Researches and resolves exceptions and illogical conditions.
- Monitors and completes research to resolve consumer, investor, and internal inquiries.
- Completes real estate tax administration processes in accordance with state and federal regulations and investor requirements.
- Ensures compliance with State, Federal, Regulatory, and Investor Requirements and guidelines, maintains up-to-date knowledge of internal policies and procedures, and understands how requirement changes affect the operations.
- Works with tax vendors & third parties utilized in the escrow administration processes.
- Meets established standards and guidelines with regard to compliance, job knowledge, quality, attendance, efficiency, initiative, and overall performance.
- Other projects and assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience in tax administration processes or in other relevant mortgage servicing departments.
- Knowledge of tax administration processes, industry standards, consumer protection laws & regulations impacting escrow operations areas.
- Ability to have a cross-functional impact across the servicing operation.
- Highly organized, reliable, and results-driven
- Ability to hustle, willingness to learn, and adapt quickly to working in a fast-paced, fluid environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and call center equipment/software programs
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

PHYSICAL and ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Standard office environment, equipment and tasks, including work at a computer terminal. This position requires partial sitting and walking throughout the day. Employees must be open to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.
CMG pays a competitive salary which ranges from $65,000 to $70,000. Factors that affect salary may include: Tax Analyst / Escrow and mortgage industry, computer skills, customer service experience specific to working with mortgage customer's, and education.
