We are searching for a Coding Specialist to join our Center Health Care.

The successful candidate will be working at the Center Health Care in Albany, New York. We are known for our quality of care for individuals with disabilities, which is at the heart of our mission. Now, we are pleased to offer this same personalized, expert care to the entire community, including both primary care as well as a number of specialty services.

The Coding Specialist is responsible for managing day to day coding functions for Center Health services, auditing patient charts for coding /documentation accuracy, researching and resolving complex status issues and the development and presentation of applicable education/communication tools as required.


  • Oversees daily coding for Center Health Care services
  • Responsible for overseeing status of electronic bills
  • Review providers visit notes in patient’s record to determine if the providers recommended diagnosis code, in their orders, is supported by the documentation
  • Review timed based services to ensure they are coded at appropriate level of complexity
  • Performs audits of patient charts to ensure accuracy of coding and documentation of services for billing and report findings to determine follow up steps
  • Develops training materials and provide training as needed to providers/clinicians t
  • Reviews all billing status online reports and follows-up with the providers to ensure accurate and timely corrections are made
  • Analyze coding scenarios
  • Assists with the implementation of all new billing software
  • Reviews and updates coding processes and procedures, according to best practice and changing regulatory rules


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • At least 1 year pf job related experience, specifically in a Medical Setting
  • Specialized training, license, certification, and skills: Coding Certification required
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR, email, data entry and internet research
  • CPT, ICD-10, APG diagnosis coding
  • Ability to make informed decisions in a highly regulated environment
