About the Job

 The vision of the Colorado Christian University (CCU) Academy is to provide affordable dual enrollment opportunities for high school students to help cut costs for families, prepare students for college, and provide an avenue for high school students to graduate with a high school diploma, CCU college credit, and even an associate's degree at the same time when they choose to pursue the A.A. in Liberal Arts track. The CCU Academy Graduate Assistant works within the Academic department of CCU academy.  This position will report to the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction to provide administrative support to the Academic department.  Key job duties include aiding and supporting the dual credit application process, digital file organization, data input and management, and other duties as assigned.

Key Job Duties

  1. Contribute to CCU’s mission: Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. In this role, the CCU Academy Graduate Assistant contributes to the mission by supporting the Academics department of CCU Academy to provide Christ-centered higher education to high school students.
  2. Report to and support the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction in managing and upkeeping systems and processes as they relate to Online Dual Enrollment courses and the university LMS.
  3. Assist Support Analysts in processing dual credit files by completing a review of dual credit applications to verify all documents and materials have been received.
  4. Assist the Support Analysts in processing approved applications by using application systems including, Salesforce, Filebound, Microsoft Office software, Adobe Pro, etc.
  5. Assist with clerical and administrative duties as assigned for CCU Academy Academics.
  6. Work in a team environment to meet the totality of assigned goals and objectives each academic year.
  7. When possible, attend monthly team meetings.
  8. Attend regular one-on-one meetings with supervisor/s.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to drive a vehicle, fly by plane, and/or use other modes of transportation.

Graduate Assistant Program Details

The Graduate Assistant position is a minimum of a two year commitment and coincides with the entrance into and completion of a graduate program at CCU. Students may take 2-3 years to complete their academic program, depending on the program selected. Graduate Assistants are expected to complete a minimum of two years of service, and to stay in their role through the end of the fiscal year (June 30) in which they complete their graduate program.

The Graduate Assistant must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university and be accepted and enrolled in one of CCU’s graduate programs. The standard workweek is 25 hours per week and will not exceed an average of 29 hours per week during the year.

Compensation includes a wage of $15.16 an hour and tuition waiver for completion of a master's degree through Colorado Christian University's College of Adult and Graduate Studies. The recipient is responsible for student fees each semester. Any selected graduate assistant is required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have results sent to CCU for review.

  1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
