Job Description: CCS is seeking a highly motivated and thoughtful leader to join a 17-person Strategy & Operations team that supports a ~100-person team of New York-based fundraising consultants. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with the talent management goals of a rapidly growing team and will focus on talent acquisition, development, deployment, retention, and DEIB. The ideal candidate will ensure that our most important resource – our people – are able to realize their full professional potential within our team and that our clients are best served by highly competent and well-trained talent.
 
Ideal candidates will possess excellent critical thinking skills as well as high EQ and an empathetic, people-first management style. The candidate is comfortable working with multiple Executives and Strategy & Operations team members and is capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced corporate environment.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Talent Management
  • Develop talent management plan for the team, identifying specific opportunities based on tenure and interests
  • In coordination with Strategy & Operations Team lead and AVP, Director Experience, develop and continuously evaluate a staffing strategy that supports talent management. Set and drive team staffing plan.
  • Attend various meetings with the team Executives to present and workshop staffing plans
  • Support Strategy & Operations Team Lead in leading annual cycle of talent management touchpoints, including:
    • Focal Reviews and Mid-Year Check-Ins (ensure continuous feedback, track activity and form completion, manage schedule of reviews, and help develop supporting materials)
    • Nominations for Executive Leadership Institute (ELI), our firmwide leadership and learning program for staff at the AVP level and above
    • Director/Operations promotion nominations
    • Executive promotion nominations
 
Recruiting
  • Work with Executive Team to understand key drivers behind successful hires and work to identify in the hiring process
  • With support from corporate recruiting, manage recruitment of 10-15 Directors annually, as well as Strategy & Operations team positions
 
 
Engagement Manager (Junior Executive) Development
  • Train new Engagement Managers in systems and processes of the Executive Team
  • Evaluate, plan for, and ensure consistent implementation of the Engagement Manager role
  • Understand Engagement Manager capacity and make recommendations on Engagement Manager staffing to support team needs in combination with Engagement Manager development
 
Retention
  • Work with HR to understand key factors or trends behind departures
  • Identify top performers and develop career map/retention plans
  • Identify common areas of challenge in Director performance and develop plans to address
 
Learning & Development
  • Understand L&D initiatives across corporate, team officers, and Strategy & Operations team landscape and support team in taking advantage of the opportunities
  • Plan for Executive professional development
  • Work with AVP, Director Experience to develop a cohesive and robust L&D plan for all tenures on the team including improvements to new hire onboarding
 
DEIB
  • Actively consider how talent management practices impact members of the team across the spectrum of professional backgrounds and experiences
  • Liaise with Corporate and Team DEI representatives to ensure compliance with best practices/firmwide tactics that support an inclusive and equitable team
 
Management
  • Ensure management of a three-person Talent Management Team and establish clear performance expectations
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and professional development to evolve the skills of the team
  • Conduct annual performance reviews
  • Work with the leadership team to promote professional advancement and address performance challenges as necessary
 
Skills Required:
  • 7+ years professional experience in Talent Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Track record of managing others effectively
  • Strong understanding of talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies and experience implementing strategies impactfully
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Keen ability to problem-solve
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000
