Position Description:        Under the supervision of the FP&A Manager, performs financial planning and analysis for management to make appropriate decisions, plan and facilitate budget development and forecasting updates, supports the development and ongoing maintenance of monthly and quarterly financial reports, and supports the analytical analysis of financial results related to individual departments and Caminar as a whole.     
   
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:   
  • Support FP&A team with annual budget development for the agency and in coordination with program managers
  • Support FP&A team with county contract budget development and budget modifications in coordination with program managers
  • Support all city/county billings and resolve any billing related issues with counties and program managers as needed
  • Facilitate the actual vs budget analysis each month inclusive of Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
  • Facilitate KPI and financial metric dashboard updates each month
  • Meet at least quarterly with program managers to review financial statements and ensure the programs are optimizing the budgets
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP)
  • Assist with county cost reports
  • Prepare various ad-hoc analysis and reports to support management in making appropriate decisions and trade off.
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries, accounts receivables and revenue entries
  • To improve financial processes and procedures and work closely with program managers and staff
  • Support monthly reports to management and board
  • Other requests as needed
   
   
Requirements, Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:   
  • Must be passionate about Caminar's mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience with GL accounting. Duties require broad conceptual judgment, analytical abilities, and the ability to deal with complex accounting issues including GAAP and FASB Requirements.
  • Knowledge of non-profit fund accounting.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including email and Internet navigation required. Experience with FP&A and Data Visualization tools (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Power BI, Sage MIP, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Inquisitive mindset to help understand and articulate Caminar’s performance and key drivers influencing financial results.
