Who We Are:

BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.

Master Scheduling Role:

The Planning and Scheduling Master Scheduler serves as an integral member of the Novato Supply Chain Operations team. Specifically, under remit of the Master Scheduler will be:

  • Novato; Drug Substance (DS), Sterile Fill Finish (DP), and Labeling/Packaging (FG)
  • All site bulk product distribution planning and scheduling
  • All site capacity planning and scenario planning
  • Material requirements planning (MRP)

This position will involve the building and sustaining of effective team and cross functional partnerships internally in Novato, globally within our manufacturing site in Shanbally, IR, and with our Global External Organization (GEO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop production requirements based on patient demand. Partner with colleagues across all DS/DP/FG operations ensuring capacity and materials are available to support production operations.
  • Govern and lead the batch flow program at both strategic and tactical operations levels, striving to achieve the most effective and efficient process across the site.
  • Support the Global Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) program in creating an integrated operational plan that supports the BioMarin business and Patent objectives.
  • Develop process metrics for Make/Assess/Release that measure effectiveness towards achieving goals, provide visibility to improvement opportunities, and track progress of improvement initiatives.
  • Support and partner closely with the MFG, Quality, Novato Technical Support, Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Planning, GEO, Network Strategy, and Capital Project groups.
  • Represent Novato Supply Chain in critical meetings (local and global)
  • Strong focus on visual management boards for all Novato Make/Assess/Release measures and status with particular focus on Novato Batch Board and Distribution Bulk Shipment Board.
  • Develop and/or support local and global programs/initiatives to deliver transformational change and/or continuous improvement across our processes and KPI’s.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to solicit production plan scenario requests and resolve schedule conflicts.
  • Develop SME capability in Oracle EBS, BioG, and ASCP suite.
  • Proactively troubleshoot complex issues in Oracle data management by collaborating with Supply Chain SME’s locally and globally.
  • Lead and collaborate with site detailed schedulers and Operational Readiness Planner to align a strategic production plan with detailed campaign scheduling.
  • Build effective cross functional relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including CMO operations. Position may include travel to build those relationships.
  • Align with strategies and realization of company, site, and functional goals.
