State the overall function or purpose of the job.

Commercial management and access of high specialty molecules in the public & private institutions. Responsible for supporting the development and execution of the access strategy in Mexico by identifying business needs and develop plans for key customers including added values and stablishing long term relations that guarantee the start and keep of patients in therapy. Focused on decentralized and centralized public institutions and field work.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Responsible for aligning strategies and actions with the Marketing, Commercial, Medical, Distributor teams, and with the Institution’s clients to ensure our products are included in the Institution’s medicine catalog
  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory level in the Institution
  • Responsible for knowing the proper document management and any requirements that the Institution requests.
  • Develop and implement integrated account plans for key customers including value/added programs aligned with Business Plan in collaboration with the commercial team and Access manager
  • Establish long-term relationships with payors as Territorial entities, influencers and stakeholders (IMSS,IMSS Bienestar, ISSSTE, PEMEX,SEMAR, SEDENA, etc) to demonstrate the importance and effectiveness of our therapies in México. 
  • Map most important processes, highlighting critical decision-making steps on budgeting and reimbursement process for our main clients.
 
  • Collaborate with the commercial team and the access manager, to reduce access barriers through periodic monitoring of defined work plans.
 
  • Maintain and strengthen the relationship with public institutions that guarantee the start and keep of patients in therapies through constant work with the sales area and patient program (proactive proposals, follow-up meetings, etc.)
 
  • Navigate the external environment, market initiatives, trends and government policies identifying business opportunities, barriers and client’s needs.
 
  • Development and implementation of projects for access expansion along with paying sources (awareness, diagnosis, regulation, etc.).
 
  • Collaborate with Territory Managers, Sales Manager and Access Manager to analyze the commercial implications of new or pending reimbursement policy and/or access proposals potentially impacting reimbursement/ access for BioMarin products.
 
  • Understanding of health economics and the clinical implications, sharing specific customer requests with Access Manager.
 
  • Manage and adhere to corporate policies and practices and full compliance to company´s Code of Conduct and Legal/Compliance policies.
 
  • Influence and engage in long term relationships in and out of the organization.
 
  • Innovation to create and enhance new models and programs to support commercial / business.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business or science discipline
  • English in intermediate or advanced level - required
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as Key Account in high-cost products, managing decentralized and centralized public institutions.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience 
  • 70% travel requirement  
  • Knowledge and excellence relationship with stakeholders (IMSS; IMSS Bienestar, ISSSTE & Decentralized institutions)
  • Depth knowledge of the Mexican Health system
  • Strategic vision of the access & purchase process in each of the public institutions
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Experience in effectively managing multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently to meet timelines.
  • Independently develops study documents and processes
  • Understands the needs of stakeholders and able to develop action plans
  • Discerns urgency of issues and takes appropriate action
