Senior Operations Research Analyst

AVER is seeking a Senior Operations Research Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security by being part of a special project team to investigate schools to determine those likely to be exploiting the student and exchange visa programs for criminal purposes. Responsibilities Include:
- Support federal customers with data analysis, trend analysis, red flag analysis, statistical analysis, performance (monthly, quarterly, annually) analysis, ad hoc and recurring studies, and/or stakeholder data requests
- Provide federal customers information required for school and student investigations
- Investigate and analyze schools to verify legitimacy or assess potential risk of fraudulent activities
- Organize and prioritize tasks, track profiles, and determined the viability of leads for investigation across the US
- Refer or make recommendation for further investigation
- Utilize various Federal systems of records and locally developed databases to document, track, and monitor the statuses of tasks and cases
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree and 12+ years or a Masters Degree and 10+ years of related experience
Experience Requirements:
- 10-12+ years of experience with conducting in depth research, analysis, writing and reporting
- Experience with drafting notices, reports, and memorandums following government templates and writing guides
- Experience with formulating detailed “finding reports” including executive level summaries, conclusions, and recommendations
- Experience with researching federal regulations, conducting in depth analysis, developing and interpreting information to assist stakeholders in decision making, policy formulation, and a variety of other managerial functions
- Experience with leveraging a variety of databases to research, compile, generate and analyze findings
- Ability to understand and interpret policy, regulations, and directives
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Experience with Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge or experience with SEVIS or a related database, preferred
Location:
- HYBRID (3-5 days a week on site in Vienna, VA, schedule determined by customer)
Security Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
- Current Top-Secret eligibility required
- This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
