Facilities Technician I (Onsite - San Diego, CA)
Description
American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Facilities Technician I to join our Facilities department.
The primary function of this position is to complete a wide variety of building support functions each day and coordinate furnishing maintenance and repair, assist with projects, light duty handyman support, inspection, and troubleshooting of furnishings and office equipment.Onsite Requirement

- Onsite Worker Guidelines: This position requires full-time onsite office work.
Responsibilities
- Performs building service, support service, ergonomic support and reception.
- Ability to take 24-hour on-call rotation bi-weekly or as required.
- Respond to and complete facilities requests in a timely manner through work order tracking system.
- Coordinates and completes employee moves and department relocations.
- Inspect and maintain, assemble, install, move, and repair furnishings.
- Conduct routine inspections of office spaces, furnishings, equipment, and common areas to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Perform plumbing repairs and coordinate with property management if necessary.
- Perform minor repairs including replacement of faucets, valves, traps, battery replacements, and fixtures.
- Accurately manages keys through assignment and resignation. Replace or duplicates furniture keys/locks as requested. Log key assets system. Update key master report.
- Coordinate company ergo equipment including managing supply, installation, and repair of all equipment types including standing workstations, keyboards trays, and chair repair.
- Uses vehicle to move inventory, pick up or deliver supplies as needed to service facility.
- Perform routine inspections of the buildings Life and Safety systems including the fire alarm and fire sprinkler system.
- Attend team, departmental, and staff meetings to discuss issues and foster teamwork.
- Oversees warehouse and storerooms, ensuring they are organized and functional.
- Maintains all door hardware, appliances, inspections, and certifications; installs of employee name plates and replaces ceiling tiles.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of documents, records, reports, and sensitive proprietary information.
- Responsible for all minor electrical troubleshooting, light maintenance, and fixture replacement.
- Member of the emergency response team.
- Reports all unique or problem situations to Manager. Communicates pending activities and issues with Manager.
- Credit card receipt reconciliation.
- Vendor Management & Preventative Maintenance Program Support
- Coordinate vendor access, escort services, and scheduled maintenance services.
- Monitor vendor work performance and report service concerns to Facilities leadership.
- Responsible for collecting certificate of insurance from vendors and submit documentation.
- Responsible for collecting SDS sheets from vendors and submit documentation.
- Manages Facilities service vendors, overseeing scheduled services and monitors performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- 2 years of experience directly performing facility servicing and coordinating general maintenance required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
- Availability of automobile for on the job use and proof of insurance.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, furniture assembly, office moves, and minor repair work.
- Ability to troubleshoot facility-related issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task, and manage time; and work autonomously while managing a heavy workload.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and inventory tracking.
- Familiarity with security systems or building access controls preferred.
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies, urgent repairs, and after-hours support when needed.
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Valid driver’s license with good driving record. Upon Hire required.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Able to assist staff during emergency situations. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone, 2 way radios, intercom system, other electronic equipment, and computer keyboard. Ability to operate a moving vehicle. Bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching for long periods of time. Must be able to safely work from ladders, scaffolds, and work outdoors. Some travel may be required to remote facilities. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push 80 lbs. using dolly or cart.
