Holtara is a leading worldwide consultancy firm specialising in ESG advisory services. We help our clients navigate the complexities of carbon & climate impacts, implement low-carbon practices, and achieve their sustainability goals. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant with a science or sustainability background to join our dynamic team and form part of our Carbon & Climate practice.

Position Overview: The Consultant will leverage his/her expertise to provide strategic advice and support clients on carbon & climate performance management, focusing on decarbonization, net-zero roadmaps, and climate risk & opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting climate risk assessments in line with leading industry frameworks.
  • Assessing corporate Carbon footprints in line with the GHG Protocol
  • Support company management to a net-zero journey and align to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Stay up to date on current on evolving carbon & climate regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and training materials on carbon & climate topics.
  • Support our digital platform development in creating innovative solutions for our client base (e.g. automated carbon footprint assessments, automated decarbonization roadmaps etc).

Qualifications and ideal capabilities

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, e.g. in (general) strategy consulting, carbon accounting, ESG consulting or similar
  • Scientific study background – sustainability oriented preferred but not mandatory – e.g. Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainable Energy technology, Earth Sciences) but also affinity with business in general and the financial sector in particular.
  • Preferably knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, TCFD and SBTi, or if not, at minimum eagerness to learn
  • Strong critical thinking skills to analyse complex situations and develop creative solutions.
  • Have excellent research, interpretation, and communication skills to effectively guide clients through the evolving carbon and climate landscape.
  • Good time management skills
  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong team player
