Specialist - Business System (Paxus)
The role of Specialist – Business Systems is to provide support for Paxus and its related systems, which is Apex’s core business application. Primary responsibilities will be to plan and execute system upgrades and performance improvements involving implementing fixes, new releases, and ad-hoc scripts. And responding to production fund accounting systems queries and problems raised through the Service Desk, assisting with testing, maintenance and audit of the systems and their control protocols. 
 
Principal Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure smooth operation and optimal performance of the application.
  • Provide comprehensive application support for the core line of business applications within the Apex Group.
  • Prioritize and resolve tickets related to peripheral business applications.
  • Collaborate with a global team to offer technical support to the Operations function, specifically related to the core line of business applications.
  • Liaise with application vendors to address support tickets promptly.
  • Take ownership of project-related tasks, including application upgrades.
  • Manage day-to-day technical application support, primarily serving the Operations function.
  • Oversee the process for releasing patches, including scheduling releases to Test and Production environments.
  • Handle periodic refreshes of Test Environments.
  • Work closely with the Internal Audit team to ensure adherence to System Control Protocols.
  • Monitor Paxus license utilization to maximize availability.
 
Experience and Knowledge Required:
 
  • Excellent understanding of Fund Administration & Transfer Agency workflows and associated technology.
  • Proficiency in SQL databases, scripting, and patching is added benefit.
  • Complete fluency in common Office/PC applications, especially Excel.
  • Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications/work experience.
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including interactions with third-party developers and providers.
  • Effective multitasking—managing concurrent projects and prioritizing demands.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Approachable and patient demeanor when assisting users.
