Assistant Manager
Location: South Africa, Johannesburg

 

Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager reporting to a Senior Manager within the Central Review Team to have responsibility for the completion of periodic reviews for the Jersey client portfolio. Working closely with the client relationship teams across Private Equity, Real Assets, Direct Lending and Corporate Services to view entity records and ensure timely completion of remediation tasks.

 

Job specification

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing and coordinating a variety of administrative duties and tasks including:

  •  Completion of periodic reviews on an annual basis for Jersey entities across all product lines.
  • Reviewing statutory records, board minutes, correspondence and other documents in entity files to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Checking adequacy of CDD held for all individuals and entities involved in the structure.
  • Liaising with the client services teams to resolve specific queries identified during the review.
  • Raising tasks on Risk management system and following up with client service teams to ensure completion of remediation items on a timely basis.
  • Liaison with the lead directors to obtain approval of the completed reviews and highlight any changes in risk to be reflected in the entity’s risk scorecard.
  • Conduct face to face meetings with the client teams to resolve any remediation points noted during the periodic review.
  • Liaise with Compliance on ad hoc regulatory projects.
  • Assisting the wider Operations Teams with other projects / tasks as may be required from time-to-time to support the strategic development of the central team, such as assistance with entity and investor onboarding.
  • Provide leadership to Central Review team across the book.

 

Skills Required:

  • Professional qualifications – LLB, BCom LLB and Admitted Attorney.
  • A professional qualification relevant to trust and company administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the finance industry.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to mentor and coach team.
  • An understanding of statutory laws and other related legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. anti-money laundering laws and regulations).
  • Motivated and driven.
