AVP, Fund Accountant Private Equity

Job Specification:

  • For our fund clients, manage all accounting functions, including but not limited to general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, capital calls, investments, distributions, management fees, intercompany reimbursements. 
  • Establish effective controls, policies, and systems.  
  • Provide records for assets, liabilities, and financial transactions.  
  • Provide quarterly, and annual financial reports covering sales, earning, profits, cash balances, and other financial result in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers of the company, financial statements, bank reconciliation, general tax reports and year-end close.  
  • May manage lower-level professional accountants or clerks through subordinate supervisors.
  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Monitor bank account balances and transfers funds between accounts.  
  • Handle all wire transfers.  
  • Prepare payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Perform special projects as requested.

 

Skills Required:

  • BS/BA in accounting or finance or equivalent with a minimum of 5-7 years related experience and at least one year in a supervisory position.
  • CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and solid accounting, finance and analytical skills.
  • Systems and operational skills, including proficiency with Excel and accounting software.
  • Written and oral communication, including ability to communicate effectively with non-financial managers and all levels of personnel.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Energetic, flexible team player with the ability to multi-task and juggle multiple shifting priorities.
  • Able to stay organized and focused when working within a hectic environment
