Description

ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Drafting Technician II: located in Honolulu, Hawaii. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.   Primary duties include: 

  • Perform C4ISR engineering drafting, drawing review, drawing control, and related services required in the design of electronic/communications equipment, systems and installations. Drawings shall be prepared in digital format using AUTOCAD software.
  • Produce mechanical & electrical/electronic drawings from rough engineering sketches;
  • Assist in Program/MILCON peer review and tech-writing support, as required, to include identifying and fixing errors in content, and formatting of documents and plans for purposes of ensuring consistency of documentation;
  • Perform peer reviews in accordance with QA Management Plan that produces documentation that is consistent in format, organization, and content, and comply with SIPH and program plans;
  • Prepare engineering drawings or sketches of existing equipment or installations where original drawings are inadequate or non-existent;
  • Scale drawings to permit addition of details, to include enlarging or reducing supplied drawings, and providing "blow-ups" of selected zones of drawings to show appropriate details. When required, perform sectioning of various views to show "hidden" details;
  • Prepare drawing layouts from one or more engineering sketches for purposes of emphasizing elements necessary for timely installation, fabrication, acquisition or adaptations;
  • Prepare illustrations, diagrams, graphs, charts, 3D renderings, or other appropriate graphic medium of various presentation media for MS PowerPoint briefing slides, reports, user manuals, and training matters;
  • Update Installation Design Plans (IDP) based on red-lines provided by the project design team;
  • Organize and Maintain version control of IDP Master Drawing Sets for projects, including the cross-referenced files

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Final Secret clearance;
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, physics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university or an Associate’s Degree in Drafting Technology or certificate of completion from a technical institute;
  • Five (5) years’ of experience in producing electronic, electrical and mechanical drawings from rough
    engineering sketches or from existing equipment installations where drawings are inadequate or nonexistent;
  • Five (5) years’ of experience in using Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) systems as a principal drafting tool;
  • Five (5) years’ of full-time work experience and expertise with AutoCAD version 2009 or newer;
  • Two (2) years’ of experience in developing three-dimensional (3D) renderings for C4I projects. AutoCAD Professional certification; and 
  • Two (2) years of experience with DoD design or installation projects.
