Description

IgniteAction is seeking an experienced API Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative APIs that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. As an API Developer, you will design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, deploys, and maintains mission-critical enterprise applications throughout the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.

  • Builds and optimizes front-end applications delivering responsive and user-friendly interfaces tailored to business needs.

  • Manages version control, development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, Bitbucket, and Jira to enable rapid, dependable deployments.

  • Agile development principles within the SAFe framework, engaging in iterative development cycles, backlog prioritization, and adaptive planning.

  • Conducts rigorous unit testing, integration testing, and automated deployment processes to ensure application quality, reliability, and security compliance.

  • Performs ongoing application maintenance, including monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and implementing patches and security updates.

  • Designs, customizes, and optimizes software solutions to enhance operational efficiency, integrating third-party components and automating maintenance tasks.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives.

  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.

  • Provide team-specific training as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer, backend developer

  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API design principles, and API security best practices

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Node.js) and familiarity with other languages (e. g., C++, Ruby)

  • Experience with API frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Express.js

  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field;

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions)

  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket)

 

Work Authorization:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain or maintain Public Trust (High) clearance.
