Director, Digital PMO

 

The Opportunity

The ideal candidate for this position will be seasoned in IT portfolio delivery with strong leadership skills, communication skills, and expertise with digital and technology transformation. As a key leader, the role will develop and maintain strong partnerships with technical leaders, and business owners to establish the overall portfolio delivery roadmap; and then will be accountable for leading a team driving execution of Technology Portfolio consisting of large, highly visible programs to attain the desired goals.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee annual Tech Project Portfolio by providing professional and strategic leadership with a focus on successful execution, delivering value and expected results
  • Monitor, manage and report on project health across the portfolio on a regular basis enabling consistent communication to the stakeholders
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and professionally develop a team of contract & employee (direct reports) program and project managers responsible for the delivery
  • Participate in the annual portfolio planning and ongoing portfolio demand management processes
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to understand projects in the pipeline and proactively drive resource planning to accelerate project initiation
  • Maintain and strive to improve enterprise-wide IT project management and related technology and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices, methodologies, standards, and templates
  • Manage the review, selection, implementation, and improvement of relevant project and portfolio management tools
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or Combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 10+ years of experience in IT portfolio, program, and project management across multiple IT functions with 3 plus years specifically in managing the Tech portfolio
  • Expert knowledge of Project Management, SDLC principles and practices and agile frameworks
  • Self-motivated, organized, with a high sense of accountability, urgency, and drive
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and influence others, negotiate during situational conflict, and establish the best forward path in the face of competing points of view
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to present content/update to C-level audience.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a dynamic, results-oriented matrixed environment
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence or other PPM tools
