The Data Center Manager will function as the lead and primary point of contact in each Credible Data center – whether in the cloud or in a Co-Located facility.  This individual will be well versed on either network related installation and customer technical support or ensuring proper operation of Credible’s Digital Infrastructure.  The Data Center Manager will ensure all Credible customer demands including network devices, security, database performance, and storage capacity are operational, optimized, and positioned for growth.  Internally, the Data Center Manager will coordinate work flow between Credible’s IT Operations, DevOPs, as well as Credible’s Development teams and Project Management to ensure all installations meet delivery dates and create a positive Partner experience.  The Data Center Manager will assist with supervisory responsibilities to include performance monitoring and reporting to executive management teams, data center strategy development, vendor management, and project management of data center initiatives.

Overall Responsibility for the Data Center Manager:

  • Coordinate change management resources
  • Guide, train and educate data staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
  • Manage and deliver mid-size projects
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required Service Level Agreements (SLA)s
  • Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Coordinate with vendors on support calls, provisioning and implementation of equipment and services.
  • Assist with the diagnosis of hardware and software related items
  • Manage Power cycling of equipment
  • Perform cabinet/cage audits
  • Managing the Testing and troubleshooting of all equipment and services
  • Supervise daily operations of all Servers, Virtual environments, Storage, and Network equipment  
  • Supervise IT Ops staff and oversee the proper operation of Credible Production Infrastructure      
  • Perform and oversee Preventative Maintenance on the critical infrastructure
  • Provide and oversee timely internal updates
  • Monitor the facility’s critical infrastructure
  • Perform or coordinate facility audits to ensure compliance with SOC2, PCI, ISO 9001 and HIPPA.
  • Perform and document inventory (hardware, software and licenses) verification counts.        
  • Oversee and perform infrastructure builds  
  • Assist in training and the transfer of knowledge to all IT Ops Technicians local and remote. 
  • Maintain patch level compliance and coordinate deployment events.

 

Success Defined for the Data Center Manager:

  • Performs proactive performance monitoring and performance tuning to mitigate outage risks
  • Keeps a pulse on capacity growth trends and proactively plans for future investments where needed
  • Defines and develops key process and procedures, as well as takes action to achieve measurable outcomes (e.g., Disaster Recovery Plan and testing)
  • Capable of automating activities to gain efficiencies where possible
  • Proven ability to integrated new technologies to achieve Credible’s growth objectives and helps to define data center strategies to achieve business goals

 

Initial Key Drivers for the Data Center Manager:

  • Track, Measure, and Report on Key Performance Indicators (latency, capacity, network performance, cost models where appropriate)
  • Provides assurances of stability to both internal and external Partners by showing improvement in KPI trends
  • Puts Credible in a position to take full advantage of current Infrastructure and grow into new Infrastructure as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Health Care, Bio-Tech, Telecommunications or Data Center related field   
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational Institution.
  • Have a strong background in either technical network installation or Data Center operations
  • Knowledge of various fiber optic and copper connectivity methods including Ethernet, and other WAN/LAN topologies        
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills  
  • Effective organizational skills and attention to detail     
  • Leadership and Team experience       
  • Ability to train lower level Technicians       
  • Proficient in VMware, EMC storage, Cisco and HP products and equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in backup technologies and processes – both in the cloud or on-premise.
  • Big Data and Business Intelligence architecture experience is desirable
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft: Windows Operating Systems, Office Suite versions, and Visio.

 

The following skills and experience are a plus:

  • Related IT certification and qualifications - Cisco, VMware, EMC or comparable certifications, and experience.    
  • Mission Critical Data Center Facility Maintenance     
  • Knowledge of Access Control Systems
